| About Folsom Lake
Folsom Lake State Recreational Area has something for everyone. With a lake size of over 30 square miles, Folsom Lake borders three counties: Placer, Sacramento and El Dorado. Folsom is best known for boating, fishing, and camping. There are over 95 miles of trails for horseback riding, bicyclists and hikers.
There are several popular areas of the lake. Granite Bay is an ideal location to bring your family, friends or company picnic. The sandy beach, buoyed swim area and lifeguard services during the summer season make this area a safe location for swimming and playing in the water. Barbecue pits, shade areas and large grassy areas can accommodate many family picnics and other activities. Snack bar services are available during the summer months.
Beal's Point is another popular picnicing area and also has campsites and a snack bar. At the south end of the lake is the Marina and Browns Ravine area. It has a snack bar, store, gas dock, picnic tables and Bar-B-Qs.
